Mentoring
The idea of mentoring young lawyers dates back several hundred years, before formal law schools existed. Judges passed on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of attorneys and the legal mentoring relationship was born. Today, each St. Louis Summer Associate is carefully matched to a mentor who provides advice and guidance throughout the summer. This is not a random process; a great deal of consideration goes into our mentor/mentee pairings. The mentor is an excellent resource for a Summer Associate with respect to the Summer Program and our firm in general, assignments, practice management, and the practice of law. Our attorney mentors are typically mid-level Associates who know first-hand the particulars of our summer program. In fact, they will probably enjoy sharing their summer associate stories with you as you make your own memories.
Summer Associates can expect to meet with their mentor on a formal or informal basis several times a week. The mentor/mentee relationship helps our Summer Associates make the most of their summer experience and prepares them for their legal careers.
