Summer Programs: Peoria, IL
Events
Recognizing the importance of developing relationships among our attorneys, each summer there are a number of events planned to provide the Summer Associates and Peoria attorneys an opportunity to get to know each other better. In a typical summer, those events will include:
- Welcome Reception/Office Happy Hour: Our attorneys, paralegals, office manager and their spouses get together within the first few weeks of the summer for a welcome reception for the Summer Associates. This reception is often held in the office, but on occasion has been at the residence of one of the attorneys in Peoria.
- Peoria Chiefs Baseball Games: Our Peoria office shares a suite at O'Brien Field in Peoria, home of the Peoria Chiefs, a Class A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Each summer the office hosts various firm clients at 18 baseball games in the suite, and the Summer Associates are invited to attend as many of those games as desired.
- Annual Summer Associate Golf (or other) Outing: While not really a formal tournament, and lacking any requirement that one must have the ability to play golf, each summer there is at least one golf outing for the Summer Associates and several attorneys to sneak out of the office for a well deserved break. If a particular Summer Associate does not care for golf, miniature golf or bowling is readily substituted.
- Firmwide Summer Associate Event: One weekend each year our Peoria Summer Associates and one or two other attorneys from our office travel to St. Louis, together with Summer Associates and attorneys from all of our firm's offices. This is primarily a social event, where Summer Associates will participate in a variety of fun activities, get a chance to meet lawyers and Summer Associates from other offices, and learn more about our firm.
- End of Summer Peoria Party: Near the end of each summer, a Peoria Partner hosts a party at his or her residence for the Summer Associates and the Peoria attorneys and their spouses.
In addition to these regularly planned activities, there are often a number of unplanned and spontaneous events, including lunches and happy hours with different attorneys in our office.
