Events
Our Kansas City Summer Program includes numerous events which allow the Summer Associates an opportunity to interact with our attorneys on a social basis and gain insight into the dynamics of our firm. For example, the 2007 Summer Program events included:
- Practice Group Dinners: The Summer Associates attended catered dinners hosted by the individual practice group leaders and members of each individual practice group.
- Boulevard Brewery Reception: All of our attorneys and Summer Associates were invited to this event where a tour of Kansas City's recently renovated local brewery was accompanied by a catered reception.
- Kansas City Royals Games: The Summer Associates enjoyed a Royals game in our Crown Seats with other members of the office.
- Golf Tournament/Bowling Tournament: Skill level is unimportant in these two fun events where the Summer Associates interacted with both our attorneys and staff in a relaxed environment.
- LAKC Court Crawl: In this event, hosted by a local legal association, Summer Associates toured the local, state and federal courthouses and had the opportunity to meet and ask questions of members of the judiciary.
- St. Louis Event: A group of Kansas City Associates and the Summer Associates took a road trip to St. Louis for an event that brought together the Summer Associates from all of our regional offices and allowed them a chance to learn more about our firm and to participate in a variety of planned social activities.
- Mock Trial: The Summer Associates from our Kansas City and Springfield offices participated in a mock trial in which our attorneys took part as witnesses, jurors, the judge, and the audience. A reception for the Summer Associates followed this event.
Our Kansas City Summer Program also makes it a priority to encourage various informal or impromptu events for the Summer Associates, such as lunches and happy hours with our Partners and Associates.
