Mentoring
Our Jefferson City office assigns an attorney mentor to each Summer Associate. The attorney mentor is an excellent resource for a Summer Associate with respect to assignments, legal skills, practice management and general questions regarding the summer program, our firm and the practice of law. The attorney mentor monitors the student's assignments for variety and complexity and coordinates with the other attorneys in the office to include the Summer Associate in as many legal experiences - such as depositions, courtroom appearances and client meetings - as possible. The attorney mentor generally meets with the Summer Associate once or twice a week to discuss the status of ongoing assignments, upcoming summer program events and feedback regarding the summer program. However, our Jefferson City office has an open door policy for all attorneys, including Summer Associates. All attorneys are available to the law student for advice and guidance. The mentoring program is designed to enhance our office's open-door policy.
